Moving on to the Abbey
Children leave the Preparatory School at the end of Year 6 with the majority transferring to our Senior School at the Abbey. This offers both social and academic continuity, a shared philosophy of education and the privilege of learning in magnificent and historic surroundings.
A complete education in a well-known and settled environment also means that children can maintain friendships throughout their schooldays.
Pupils develop their skills and personal qualities at the Prep School and children move on to the Senior School as confident individuals. The same family atmosphere and curriculum planning ensure a smooth transition from the Prep School to the Abbey where a warm welcome awaits.
At the Senior School children are expected to take increasingly more responsibility for themselves and those around them and a transition programme that takes place helps them to prepare. This includes recognised awards such as, Bikeability, a Junior Lifeguard certificate and a Junior Sports Leader award among others.
Regular enrichment opportunities and invites to social events means that the children are familiar with both the staff and the Senior School site prior to their move to the Abbey.
