Westnedge Boarding House

‘Westnedge House is the smallest of the boarding houses. It is a comfortable, close knit community only a very short walk away from the Main School. I am very proud of the many achievements that Westnedge boarders have managed over the years and enjoy nothing more than when we can all socialise together in one of the common rooms or garden. 

My name is Philip Usher and I live in Westnedge with my family. I am the Deputy Head, and have overall responsibility for boarding. Both of my children are pupils at Battle Abbey School and my wife Fiona is Head of Computing – Battle Abbey truly is a family school! We also have a pet dog; Barney the Beagle who can often be seen around the school and is available for dog walks. My first degree is in Economics, which I also teach. I love sport and have played rugby and cricket and still have the odd guest appearance on the football pitch’.
